Lisa Murphy remembered as ‘full of love and energy’ as she is laid to rest in Dublin

Lisa Murphy was remembered as someone who lived a life “full of love and energy” as she was laid to rest today in Dublin.

The TV star passed away on February 1 at the age of 51 after battling with cancer.

Her mass was held today in St John the Evangelist Church in her native Ballinteer, Dublin.

Familiar faces attended her funeral, including her former partner, Gerald Kean, as well as Michael Flatley.

Lisa’s younger brother, Noel, remembered her in a eulogy: “In her 51 years, Lisa lived a life so full of love and energy, that was so vibrant that everyone who came in contact with her instantly fell in love with her.”

Her sister, Kira, remembered her as a fighter.

“Giving up was not in her DNA. She oozed positivity right to the end,” Kira told The Independent.

“She never, ever, wanted to put time frames on her life. She didn’t want a time frame. She didn't ask for one. But because it [the cancer] was hormone-receptive, there was a lot of different medications that could prolong her life.”
