Shop of €1m windfall revealed as Lotto share tips on safeguarding that golden ticket

A Lotto player in Wexford is celebrating a life-changing windfall after winning an astounding €1 million in the special Lotto Plus Raffle event held last night.

The lucky winner, hailing from the Sunny South East, secured the remarkable prize by purchasing a winning Quick Pick ticket at Wallace Costcutters in Wellingtonbridge, Co Wexford, on Friday, February 2.

Typically, the Lotto Plus Raffle produces 60 to 120 winners of €500 in every draw. However, this particular draw diverged from the norm, as one fortunate Wexford player enjoyed an even greater fortune due to a special Raffle event.

The winning Lotto Plus Raffle number, 1273, was the key to unlocking an additional prize of €1 million for one lucky ticket holder. While every ticket with the winning Raffle number secured €500, this Wexford player became the sole recipient of the extraordinary €1 million windfall.

This newfound millionaire, now the fourth National Lottery millionaire of the year, is urged to check their tickets meticulously and the winning ticket, worth a total of €1,000,500, should be signed on the back for ownership and kept somewhere "secure".

The National Lottery has confirmed that a notification and email have been sent to the winner, who is encouraged to make contact with the prize claims team at 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie. Arrangements will then be made for the winner to collect their prize at Lotto HQ.

Despite no outright winner of the €2,461,070 jackpot in Saturday night's draw, excitement is building for Wednesday's draw, with the jackpot now rolling towards an estimated €2.8 million.

As the anticipation for the next draw builds, players across the country are encouraged to try their luck, knowing that the next million-dollar windfall could be just a ticket away.
