Brollys up! Heavy rain set to batter over a DOZEN counties for next 24 hours

Over a dozen counties will experience heavy and persistent rainfall over the next 24 hours, according to Met Éireann. 

A Status Orange rain warning for Cork and Waterford is in place from 4pm today (Thursday September 14) until 6pm tomorrow (Friday September 15), with localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions expected. 

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow rain warning is also in place for Carlow, Kildare, Dublin, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Wicklow, Kerry, Limerick, and Tipperary. 

The Status Yellow warning is active from today (Thursday) at 6pm to tomorrow evening at 6pm, with persistent and sometimes heavy rain expected, leading to poor visibility.
