The event will be taking place in St Mary's Cathedral, Limerick city
THE IRISH Philharmonic Singers are bringing “dramatic” music to Limerick with their upcoming performance capturing “one of the worst maritime disasters in history”.
The choral concert will be in memory of the sinking of the MS Estonia with the loss of 852 lives.
The newly-formed choir, comprised of 24 professional musicians and lifelong choristers from across Ireland, will be singing in St Mary's Cathedral on Sunday, September 7 at 6pm.
A spokesperson for the choir said it has "one essential principle: the love of harmony".
The group performs "complex and deeply emotional music which captivates the listener".

Their debut nationwide tour brings an "ambitious" programme of contemporary choral music to audiences across the country.
The programme will have a maritime theme, which will include "a modern setting of the Ave Maris Stella prayer", and will culminate in a "highly dramatic" musical depiction of the 1994 disaster of the MS Estonia, which sank in the Baltic Sea.
The choir will be performing under the baton of musical director Daniel Beuster, who himself has links with Estonia.
After he graduated with a BA in Music from Cork School of Music, he studied orchestral conducting in Estonia and is a graduate of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
The concert is free, with a retiring collection being held. For more information and to reserve tickets in advance, email: philharmonics@danielbeuster.com.
