Scottish rock band announces Limerick gig for next summer

Scottish post-rock band, Mogwai

SCOTTISH post-rock band Mogwai have announced a Live At The Big Top show in the Milk Market this summer.

The band have been together for nearly three decades, having formed in Glasgow in 1995, and have never performed in the city.

After performing to thousands at the inaugural In The Meadows festival last June, the band says this concert “promises to be one of the shows of the summer”.

The band consists of Stuart Braithwaite on guitar and vocals, Barry Burns on guitar, piano, synthesiser and vocals, Dominic Aitchison on bass guitar, and Martin Bulloch on drums.

Since 1997, the band have released ten studio albums, with their most recent, 2021’s As The Love Continues, being a commercial and critical success.

The documentary had its World Premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, in March 2024 and is currently being shown at film festivals across the world.

Mogwai will play Live At The Big Top on Friday, July 25. 2025.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, November 22 from dolans.ie.
