Munster Rugby issue squad injury update ahead of Dragons clash

THE Munster Rugby squad is preparing at their High Performance Centre at UL ahead of Saturday’s URC Round 10 clash against the Dragons at Rodney Parade, 7.35pm, live on RTÉ2 & Premier Sports.

On the injury front, Mike Haley suffered an ankle injury in the weekend Investec Champions Cup defeat to Northampton Saints and has had a scan on the injury. Niall Scannell failed a HIA and will enter the graduated return-to-play protocols.

Munster also report that Shane Daly is progressing through the graduated return-to-play protocols and his availability will be determined later this week.

John Hodnett is being assessed for a leg injury and his availability will be determined later this week.

Diarmuid Kilgallen (wrist) and Peter O’Mahony (calf contusion) both made successful returns against Northampton and came through the game with no issues.

In international news, Tadhg Beirne, Jack Crowley, Conor Murray, Calvin Nash and Peter O’Mahony have linked up with the Ireland squad as they continue their Six Nations preparations.

Continuing to rehab: Dave Kilcoyne (thigh), Scott Buckley (calf), Alex Nankivell (hamstring), Thaakir Abrahams (shoulder), Craig Casey (knee), Jean Kleyn (thigh), Liam Coombes (chest), Seán O’Brien (leg), Jeremy Loughman (hip), Josh Wycherley (neck), Patrick Campbell (shoulder), Cian Hurley (knee), Edwin Edogbo (Achilles), Roman Salanoa (knee).
