MUNSTER Rugby scrum-half Conor Murray has opened up about leaving for Irish Camp only days after the birth of his new born son Alfie as the Irish team prepare to take on the All Blacks in the Aviva Stadium on Friday, November 8.
Speaking to Irish Rugby, Murray said: "The arrival of Alfie has been unbelievable, it is the best feeling ever. I feel like I am getting away with murder being in camp and getting full nights sleep, but all home and healthy so we can't ask for much more."
The Irish team have travelled to Portugal for a vigorous training camp ahead of the Autumn Nations Series in Dublin which will see the side face the All Blacks, Argentina, Fiji and Australia.
The last time Ireland met the All Blacks was in at the 2023 World Cup in France where the New Zealand team broke the Irish hearts grasping a 28-24 victory and crushing our dreams of a World Cup victory.
Murray went on to speak about the rivalry between Ireland and the All Blacks stating: "There is not many tougher tasks in terms of meeting the All Blacks first game. I personally love the November series time, it's just a serious buzz around the whole country and to have four sold-out games in the Aviva is pretty special and it's something we don't take for granted.
