A man in his 60s was pronounced dead this Easter Sunday morning after being struck by a car in Co Kildare.
Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a fatal road traffic collision at Knocknagee, Co Kildare, which occurred at approximately 11.20am this Sunday, March 31.

The collision involved a car and a bicycle.
 
A male cyclist (aged in his 60’s) was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been removed to Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

No other injuries were reported at the time.
 
The road is currently closed. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), and who were travelling in the area of Knocknagee, Co. Kildare between 10.30am and 11.30am, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
