Gardaí have revealed their latest Easter long weekend road statistics, which include three road fatalities.
An Garda Síochána launched their Bank Holiday Roads Enforcement Operation from 7am on Thursday, March 28.
The road traffic gardaí will remain out in force until 7am on Tuesday, April 2.
Since the start of the operation, there have been three fatal road traffic collisions.
A total of 101 incidents have been detected, involving drivers suspected of being under the influence of an intoxicant.
The two road fatalities included one woman in her 30s who was a passenger in a car which collided with another car on the N24 in Kilsheelan, Co Tipperary at around 10pm on Good Friday. She has been named locally as 37-year-old Claire Kavanagh.
The other fatality was a 17-year-old boy who was struck by a car on the N17 in co Mayo, close to Claremorris.
This tragedy happened just days after a family of three, Úna Bowden and her two daughters, Saoirse (9) and Ciara (14) were killed when their car collided with a truck on the same road, the N17, on Tuesday March 26.
A man in his 60s has been also pronounced dead in Co Kildare after a cyclist was knocked down by a car.
He was cycling this morning at approximately 11:20am on Easter Sunday when he was struck by a car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
