A MAN has died after he was struck by a truck in Charleville.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of the incident that occurred at approximately 1245pm this Friday 28 at Main Street in the town, which is close to the Cork/Limerick border.
"The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries to persons was reported," said a garda spokesperson.
The road is currently closed and the services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested. Local diversions are in place and motorists travelling between Limerick and Cork are advised to expect delays.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage and who were travelling in the Main Street area of Charleville between 12pm and 1pm are asked to make this footage available to gardaí," said a spokesperson.
