The 'mega-pharmacy' will be the chain's first store in Limerick

A NEW store in the Parkway Shopping Centre is bringing 24 new jobs to Limerick.

Australian discount pharmacy chain Chemist Warehouse opened its first shop in the region at the shopping centre on Saturday, July 12.

The 6,460 sq ft 'mega-pharmacy' is bringing 24 new jobs to the area, including two full-time pharmacist positions.

This is Chemist Warehouse’s 15th Irish store and is a “significant step” in the company's 2025 expansion plan, with five more stores scheduled to open across Ireland later this year.

Since entering the Irish market in 2020, Chemist Warehouse has opened stores across the country, and has created over 500 new jobs nationwide.

The shop will be open seven days a week, from 9am to 7pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, from 9am to 8pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 10am to 7pm on Sunday and bank holidays.

Colin Galligan, CEO of Chemist Warehouse Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of our 15th Chemist Warehouse store here in the city of Limerick. The Parkway Shopping Centre is an ideal location to continue our mission of delivering unbeatable value and exceptional healthcare service to communities across Ireland.”

He added: “This milestone reflects our continued growth and deep commitment to making quality healthcare more accessible to all. We look forward to welcoming the people of Limerick through our doors.”
