Popular Limerick village calendar now on sale

ONE COUNTY Limerick community has launched its 2024 calendar - a publication which previously reached over 20 countries around the world.

Boher Community Development Association launched its 2024 calendar which is described as celebrating “fun, faith, service and friendship” within the community.

Launched at O’Neill’s Bar, Boher Community Development Association chairman Pat O’Connell said the 2024 calendar showcases “all things that make Boher a wonderful place to live”.

“The opening of the new roundabout at Beary’s Cross was probably the most notable event in Boher in 2023 and made the front cover. An additional photo of the official opening is inside the back cover of the calendar,” said Mr O’Connell.

“Prominent in this year’s edition was service to the church, as well as sport, which was a major focus of this year’s calendar with teamwork, charity, fun and heroic personal achievements very much to the fore.”

Those featured include the arrival of Fr Tom Dunne, the new parish priest of Murroe and Boher and Fr Tommy Laffan, a Boher native now ministering in Kenya.

In sport, the 1973 Boher hurling team featured as well as Tiarnán O’Donnell training for the Paralympics.

“Times gone by in Boher are also showcased, with pictures relating to Kishikirk NS, which was opened 200 years ago,” outlined Mr O'Connell of the calendar, which sells for €7,
