A LIMERICK woman has been crowned the Racing Post/SIS Betting Shop Manager of the Year at the glitzy awards gala in London on Monday.

Hailing from Raheen, Georgina Moloney, of BoyleSports, was one of eight finalists to attend the event from across Ireland and the UK where she was interviewed by a number of leading industry experts before being announced as the winner of the prestigious award.

With a career in the industry spanning over 20 years, Georgina has been the Manager of the BoyleSports shop in Raheen since 2017 and has also played a major role in promotional activities, shop openings and in work on the racecourse.

A major sporting fan, particularly of the Limerick hurling team and Arsenal, Georgina buoys her top-class customer service skills with an extensive knowledge of a wide range of sports from GAA, to soccer and horse racing.

After picking up the coveted gong, Georgina said: “I'm absolutely so proud to receive this award not just for myself but also on behalf of BoyleSports. I can hardly believe it. I want to thank Geraldine and Yvonne and all of my team in Raheen, Limerick. And to thank everyone for the wonderful support I have received in the last few months, it is much appreciated.”

Sinéadh Crowe, Head of Retail Operations for BoyleSports, said:“We couldn’t be prouder of what Georgina achieved on Monday. To be selected as a finalist was already a wonderful accolade, but to be announced as Betting Shop Manager of the Year recognises all the hard work and dedication that Georgina and her team put in day in, day out.

“Georgina’s hard work, professionalism, and commitment to both her team and her customers embodies everything we strive for at BoyleSports and this award is testament to her outstanding contribution to our Raheen shop and the wider community.”
