LIMERICK Ladies face Cork this Saturday, May 4 in the final game of the robin robin series of the Munster senior ‘B’ football championship. The sides will meet again in the Munster ‘B’ Championship decider after this weekend.
This game, which throws-in at 4.30pm, is part of a double header in the Mallow GAA complex with the action getting underway at 2.30pm as Cork and Tipperary will face off in the Munster Senior Football Championship.
Limerick Ladies football joint-manager Sean Kiely feels it is important for this group to get over the line in a final. The Shannonsiders came up short in last year's All-Ireland junior final and this year's Division 4 final.
“The big thing for us is trying to get over the line in one of the competitions. I’ve said it before, we’ve been in every final nationally that we can get into, but we haven’t managed to get over the line in any of them. I was just saying to the girls, there’s another opportunity with the Munster Final coming up of winning a bit of silverware.
“I think that’s an important thing for us to get over the line in a competition and then once we have that done, we’re setting up into the All-Ireland championship and that gives us a good platform to work off.”
Limerick cruised past Kerry in the opening round of the Munster ‘B’ Football Championship on Saturday, last where they won out on a convincing final scoreline of 5-21 to 0-10 at Fr Casey's GAA Club in Abbeyfeale.
