The UL-Bohemian women's head coach Fiona Hayes
UL-BOHEMIAN'S women's rugby side will attempt to write themselves into the history books again this Sunday in the women's AIL final when they take on Railway Union at the Aviva Stadium at 1:45pm.
Head coach of the women's side Fiona Hayes knows all too well the threat Railway pose as one of the most dominant sides in the women's league but she is confident her side will pull through on the day.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's final Fiona went on to state: "When it comes to finals we are just hoping that if we perform we can 100% get the win. As a coach and a team as well most of these players have never even been in an AIL final so it's exciting but hopefully not too much pressure for them, because at the end of the day when we go out and enjoy our rugby we play away better."
Boh's have already gained a cup this season after beating rivals Railway in the Energia All-Ireland Cup back in January on a scoreline of 34-12, but since then the Limerick side have faced a lot of disruptions to the squad with players coming in and out due to Munster and Ireland commitments.
This has left Hayes and her management with a serious headache this week as they try and name a match-day squad for the AIL final.
Fiona went on to say: "It is extremely difficult to pick a team and it might sound crazy but we have about five or six starting spots still up for grabs this week. You are looking at players that might be viewed better from a Munster perspective and then you are looking at players that played when there was spots to fill and it's trying to balance that.
"You want to pick a squad that everyone is happy with and it was quite stressful to try and pick a team during the season when were missing up to 15 players at a time. It is a testament to the strength and depth of our squad but it does make out life much more difficult for games like this."
