The UL-Bohemian women's squad for the 2023/24 season
UL-BOHEMIAN women's side will be hoping to bring home their second Cup of the season this Sunday as they take on old rivals Railway Union in the Women's AIL final at the Aviva Stadium.
The teams have already met in a final this season where UL-Bohs came out on top in the Energia All-Ireland Women’s Cup on a scoreline of 34-12, clinching their first All-Ireland Cup title since 2019.
On top of the success of winning the All-Ireland Cup, the Annacotty-based side have had enjoyed an equally impressive All-Ireland league campaign registering 15 wins and suffering just one defeat.
This will be the fourth time this season that UL-Bohs have faced Railway Union with the Dublin side getting the upper hand in their last encounter, leaving it all to play for this Sunday.
Looking ahead to the AIL final on Sunday, captain of the UL-Bohs team Chloe Pearse said: “We are really looking forward to Sunday's game and the last few encounters with Railway have been great game, so I'm sure this weekend's game will be no different.
“We have met ‘Railway’ three times already this year and have gotten the better of them on two occasions, but most recently we lost our winning streak in the league and fell short against them so we will definitely have that game in the back of our heads.”
Pearse added: “We have had a lot of changes to our squad throughout the season, but I am delighted to be leading them out for another final on Sunday in the Aviva. It is going to be a huge game as we are all buzzing for it.”
