PPS Financial Planning will once again sponsor the Limerick Leader's GAA coverage in 2024.
The launch of the sponsorship took place at PPS Financial Planning's Raheen offices, with those in attedance also including Limerick senior hurler Cathal O'Neill and senior footballer Josh Ryan.
James Mullane, Director PPS Financial Planning, said: “We are once again delighted to sponsor the Limerick Leaders GAA coverage for 2024 in what promises to be another exciting year.
The team in the Limerick Leader put enormous time and resources into covering and promoting our club and county games and for that they deserve great credit.
“Our hurlers face a monumental challenge to retain their title this year and this weekend’s trip to Ennis will be the first of many. It is always very hard to win in Ennis so trying to do so with the form Clare are in will be a tough. Having a love of sport is a great gift for us all to have.
"After a long, wet winter having Sunday’s game to look forward will give everyone a lift. Our hurlers are a bit like the global economy having showed remarkable resilience in the last few years.
“Global stock markets are close to all-time highs and unemployment in the U.S. is the lowest it has been since 1969. This is all in spite of the pandemic, high inflation, and the ongoing global conflicts.
“I think the most important numbers to watch this year are the global inflation numbers. Inflation they say goes up the lift and comes down the stairs and this time it is no different.
"The prevailing view at the start of the year was for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates seven times in the US but that has been revised to two as inflation remains stubborn. At home the cost of living is taking its toll on families, so an easing of inflation and a subsequent lowering of interest rates would be most welcome.
“A prolonged period of sticky inflation and high interest rates raises the risk of a slowdown in the Irish and indeed global economy.
“That is hopefully something that we will be able to avoid. In Europe a 1% interest rate has been priced in by the end of the year, let’s hope it comes to pass.
“Finally, I would like to thank Cathal and Josh for coming in for the launch.
“They are two of our very best hurling and football talents and fantastic ambassadors for Limerick. We would like to wish them and all the Limerick teams every success for 2024.”
