TABLE toppers Treaty United will seek to begin their programme of fixtures in this season's SSE Airtricty League First Division with four straight wins when hosting Bray Wanderers at the Markets Field this Friday night, 7.45pm.

Tommy Barrett's Treaty United side made it three wins on the bounce in the First Division when edging past Kerry FC 1-0 at Mounthawk Park on Friday night last.

Half time substitute Yoyo Mahdy scored the Treaty United winner - his first goal for the club – on the hour mark to secure the vital three points in the Kerry capital.

However, the visitors had to survive a big scare late on in the game as Kerry had the chance to equalise at the death, only for Ryan Kelliher to blast his spot kick high over the visitors' crossbar.

After almost 2,000 spectators packed into the Markets Field for Treaty United's league opener against Cobh Ramblers, followed by two impressive away wins, Treaty manager Barrett is expecting yet another bumper crowd when Bray visited Garryowen this Friday evening.

“Obviously a difficult assignment for us,” Barrett told Leader Sport.

“We know Bray are a good side, they are a good attacking side in particular. There are goals in that team, but we are confident at the moment. But we can’t get too carried away either.” Visitors Bray have a win and a loss from their two league games to date.

Meanwhile, a youthful Traty United side bowed out of the Munster Senior Cup on Monday night when suffering a 4-1 defeat to Kerry FC at Mounthawk Park in Tralee.

Debutant Mark Byrne scored the Treaty Utd goal in the opening half. Treaty boss Tommy Barrett also handed a first competitive start to 17-year-old goalkeeper Michael Dike in the game.

A youthful Treaty started the game with a line-up with an average age of just under 21, making 11 eleven changes to the side that defeated Kerry three nights previously in the league.

Treaty United v Kerry FC, Munster Senior Cup: Michael Dike; Robbie Lynch, Conor Carew, Mark Byrne, Fionn Doherty; Adam O’Halloran, Alec Byrne; Mark Murphy, Leon Kirrane, David Tarmey; Yolo Mahdy (Capt.). Subs: Richkov Boevi for Mahdy, Sean Costelloe for Mark Byrne (both 61 mins); Nikodem Kozlowski for Kirrane, Mark O’Halloran for Doherty (both 70).
