THREE out of four Limerick national league basketball teams secured victories over the weekend as the league starts to wind down and teams begin to seal their faith in post season quarters and semi-finals.
In the InsureMyVan.ie men's division one Limerick Sport Eagles got a win at home against Killarney Cougars on a scoreline of 107-91.
Top scorers on the night included Kealan Coats (28 points), Sam Finley (25 points) and Ignacio Folguerias (16 points). This win leaves them in the middle of the South Conference table in fourth place with only four games left in the league to try and better their position with.
Limerick Celtics men's squad also had a confident 88-64 victory over Titans BC of Galway. They have recently signed Da'kquan Davis, who previously played for Limerick Sport Eagles, and a good signing it was for Celtics as he was top scorer against Titans with 32 points.
In the Missquote.ie women's division one league Limerick Sport Huskies suffered another loss away to St Pauls Killarney, 85-71. Huskies have struggled the entire season with both Ashling McGann (23 points) and Scout Frame (21 points) top scorers on the night.
Limerick Celtics women's side have secured their post season semi-final after finishing second in the southern conference of the league with a90-56 win against SETU Carlow.
Since their national cup win the team have gone from strength to strength with five of their players scoring double digits including Amy Buckley with a season high of 18 points.
