Limerick schools seek to secure Munster Senior Cup semi-final places

The Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup has reached the quarter-final stage this week

THE two remaining Limerick sides in this season's Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup competition will be involved in quarter-final fixtures today, Thursday.

Crescent College and St Munchin's College missed out on advancing directly to the semi-finals last month after suffering defeats in their respective semi-final qualifiers. Crescent College Comprehensive suffered a 14-3 defeat to PBC at Virgin Media Park in Cork.

The Dooradoyle side trailed 3-7 at half-time, with their first half points coming courtesy of an Evan Cusack penalty. Crescent College will now face Rockwell College in a quarter-final fixture on today Thursday, February 8 at Thomond Park, 3.30pm.

Meanwhile, St Munchin's College will also be in quarter-final action after losing out 15-5 to CBC in their semi-final qualifier at Virgin Media Park last week.

Captain Oisín Minogue scored the St Munchin's try off a well-executed maul in the second half. St Munchin's will now face Bandon Grammar School in the quarter-finals of the Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup at Thomond Park on today Thursday, February 8 at 1pm.

Cork sides PBC and CBC have already qualified for the semi-final stages of the Pienrgy Munster Schools Senior Cup.
