Munster Rugby issue squad injury update ahead of Stormers visit to Limerick

Munster Rugby hooker Diarmuid Barron

THE Munster Rugby squad is preparing at the High Performance Centre at UL ahead of Saturday’s URC clash against Stormers at Thomond Park, 5.15pm, kick-off.

It will be a repeat of last year’s URC Grand Final when Munster overcame the South African side to lift the URC trophy.

On the injury front, hooker Diarmuid Barron will follow the graduated return to play protocols after being removed on Friday night during the interprovincial defeat to Ulster in Belfast and subsequently failing a HIA.

Liam Coombes suffered a shoulder injury while playing for Garryowen and will see a specialist this week for review.

Continuing to rehab: RG Snyman (chest/shoulder), Joey Carbery (wrist), Patrick Campbell (ankle), Roman Salanoa (knee), Mike Haley (hip), Cian Hurley (ankle/achilles), Niall Scannell (groin).

There were 16 Munster players in AIL action for their clubs at the weekend.
