ULTRA-CONSISTENT Limerick hurdler Sarah Lavin won the 100m hurdles in 12.79 seconds, to set a new meeting and stadium record, at the Morton Games in Dublin on Friday night.
The Lisnagry Olympian's performance is all the more impressive as the race was run into a headwind and on a wet track in Santry.
Lavin, who has been in terrific form this season, was quickly out of blocks and ran out a convincing winner. The Limerick woman's time of 12.79 was narrowly outside the 12.73 she clocked in Stockholm at a Diamond League meet at the start of the month.
Lavin's winning time shattered the old stadium record at the Morton Stadium of 12.97 set by Jade Barber (USA) last year.
The time Lavin recorded in Stockholm was an Olympic qualifying time for the 2024 Games in Paris as well as the World Championships later this year.

Liberia's Ebony Morrison, an Olympic semi-finalist in Tokyo and silver medallist in the 2022 African championships, finished second behind Lavin on Friday night in 13.10.
World and European finalist Lavin won a bronze medal for Ireland at the European Games in Poland earlier this summer.
