THE second day of Kennedy Cup group stages gets underway today, Tuesday, at the University of Limerick Campus.
Two of the three Limerick teams were in action on Monday, both coming away with important wins to put them at the top of their groups.
Limerick Desmond Schoolboy League faced Carlow in a testing challenge but eventually gained the winning points with a 2-1 victory.
Limerick District, on the other hand, were well ahead by halftime and looked like they were in cruise control throughout the entire game.
They finished their opening fixture against North Eastern Counties (NECSL) on a scoreline of 3-1, putting them top of group four.
Limerick County received a bye in their opening round as they are in a three-team group in the competition and so will play their first game of the tournament today.
The last of the group games today will decide what silverware the teams will be playing for later in the week.
