Ballynanty Rovers 0 Regional Utd 1
INJURY forced Ballynanty Rvs to field a much-depleted side in their Premier League clash with Regional United at LIT on Thursday evening.
Neither team have any expectations of catching the leading two in the title race but it proved interesting as a dress rehearsal for next weekend's MFA semi final clash.
Despite the result, Balla will be happy enough with their battling performance.
The only goal of the game was a penalty kick scored with 20 minutes remaining by Kieran O'Connell.

IN the Premier A Cup semi final, Fairview Rgs edged out Cappamore for a place in the final against Newport. Few gave Cappamore any hope in the tie but they put up a plucky performance before bowing out to goals from Leon Johnson and Zak Sheehan.
In the race for the title Newport picked up the points against neighbours Murroe. Christy Doyle was in top form scoring three goals for the winners with top scorer Jay Ryan adding another couple to his tally.
Philip Clancy, Shane Power and Brian Quinn replied for Murroe.
Geraldines kept their hopes for the title and promotion on course but had to rely on an injury time goal to win a thrilling encounter in Garryowen.
Gareth Grant, Kane Connolly and Conor Madden for Dines and James Cleary, Craig Collopy and Mike Guerin for Moyross had the sides locked at 3-3 deep into injury time when Jack McGarry headed a dramatic winner to the joy of the home support.
Dara Neville, Ger Clancy and Kai Joyce were on the mark for Aisling at home to Corbally Utd but the visitors responded through Adrian Finnin, Ian O'Donoghue, Darragh Reddan and Klorane Tabot-N'dip to take the points.
Kilmallock beat Athlunkard Villa 4-1 with scores from Killian Hayes (2), Jason Heffernan and Kyle Tierney.
In Division 1A Knockainey beat Southend by the odd goal in seven. Padraig Barron, Eddie Winter, Dara Cunningham and Nick Hayes netted for the winners. It was the same result in Lee Estate where Star fell to Pallagreen and goals from Vinnie Ryan (2), Duane Carroll and Kevin Barry.
In Div 2A Murroe B dented neighbours Lisnagry's hopes of promotion when the sides finished 1-1. Shane Quilty scored for Murroe with Jordan Clancy obliging for Murroe.
Herbertstown continue their stealth climb up the table in Div 2B and a 7-0 win over Abbey Rvs puts them in the mix for the title.
Joe Fogarty and Harry Fox scored two apiece while Conor Phipps, Keith O'Connor and Cillian Reale also scored.
Premier League Bottom Six
CAREW Park and Coonagh played out a thrilling game on Sunday morning when they visitors took the points with a late goal to win 3-2.
The result was even more impressive when you take into account that Coonagh reduced to ten men, fought back from two goals down to take the points.
Carew took the lead in the 21st minute when Jonathan Grant crossed to John Connery to tap home.
Coonagh were reduced to ten men just before the break and minutes into the restart a long ranger from Evan Lynch looked like it would seal the tie.
However, the introduction of Joey Sheehan and Sean Hartney added some spark to the visitors cause.
In the 70th minute the ball broke to Ronan Ryan about 30 yards from goal and he struck a beauty to top corner.
The sides were level on 76 minutes when Joey Sheehan’s shot was blocked but fellow sub Sean Hartney blasted the rebound into the bottom corner.
With their tails up, Coonagh snatched the winner following superb work from Ian Considine to set up Gordon McKevitt to fire in a dramatic winner.

St Michaels 2 - 1 Ballynanty Rovers
Despite fielding a make shift side, Ballynanty Rvs put up a good showing before bowing out of the FAI Senior Cup at the hands of St Michaels on Sunday.
The home side took the lead with a free kick from Barry Quinn.
