LIMERICK sprint hurdler Sarah Lavin powered her way into the semi-finals of the 60m hurdles at the European Indoor Athletics Championship after an impressive showing in her first round heat on Saturday morning.
Lisnagry woman Lavin finished in second place in her heat in a time of 8.03, just .01 of a second behind the winner, Ditaji Kambundji, of Switzerland, to advance to the semi-finals of the 60m hurdles which will take place from 7.55am Irish time on Sunday.
Emerald AC athlete Lavin, who is coached by Noelle Morrissey, clocked the seventh fastest time overall of those to qualify for Sunday's semi-finals.
