LIMERICK Ladies footballers will look to build on their weekend draw with Laois when hosting Carlow in a Lidl Ladies NFL Division 3, Round 4 fixture at TUS’ Moylish Campus on Friday evening.

Limerick's Deobrah Murphy secured a share of the spoils for the Shannonsiders in their exciting 2-12 each draw with Laois at Ballylinan on Sunday last when converting a late free. The result sees Limerick sit in sixth place in the Division 3 table with a win, a draw and two defeats from their opening four league fixtures.

Their opponents last Sunday, Laois, had won three of their opening four fixtures prior to throw-in.Friday's visitors to Moylish, Carlow, sit second-from-bottom in the Division 3 league table with one win from their opening four league fixtures.

Carlow suffered a heavy defeat away to Louth in their most recent league game. A dream start last Sunday saw Limerick race into a five-point half-time lead, helped by Caoimhe Macnamara's early goal.

However, Laois hit back and even went ahead in the closing stages despite being reduced to 14 players. With time running out, Murphy held her nerve to slot her eighth free and secure a valuable draw for the Treaty side. Limerick's second goal arrived in the opening half, scored by Rebecca Delee, rifling home after a defensive scramble.
