THE Limerick ladies footballers have announced a joint captaincy for the up-coming season. Róisín Ambrose and Yvonne Lee will captain the side for the second year in-a-row.
Last season the Limerick team coaches by Sean Kiely and Mike Quilligan got to the Division 4 League final against Carlow, which promoted them to Division 3 league this year.
They also won the Munster Senior 'B' title after a fantastic display against Cork before bowing out of the TG4 Junior Championship with defeat to eventual winners Fermanagh in the semi-final.
Kiely and Quilligan's team will get their Division 3 league campaign started with a home fixture against Down on Sunday, Januray 26 at 12:30pm in Mungret GAA Pitch.
This game will be followed by a home tie against Wexford before heading away to Offaly, Carlow and Laois in the coming weeks. The Limerick ladies will enjoy a final home game in the league against Louth on Sunday, March 23 before their last away game of the league against Cavan.
