LIMERICK DISTRICT LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION:
Janesboro 0 Ballynanty Rvs 1
WITH Fairview Rgs having a free weekend, Ballynanty Rvs took the opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table to four points after a 1-0 win at Janesboro on Sunday afternoon.
A sweet second half strike by Shane Walsh was all that separated the sides at the end of 90 minutes but the visitors had goalkeeper Tommy Holland to thank for his first half save to deny Shane Clarke from the penalty spot to ensure all points were gathered.
The Blues had to withstand a few nervous moments in the closing stages but Derek Braddish and Co will be delighted to have come through a stern test with points on board.

Balla' were on the front foot early on with Kane Connolly and James Fitzgerald going close.
Kai Joyce went within inches of breaking the deadlock and minutes later the same player was fouled in the area presenting Shane Clarke with a spot kick but his well struck effort saw Tommy Holland get down low to his right to turn the ball away to safety.
Scoreless at the break, Balla broke the deadlock on the hour mark when a clever step over by Jamie Greaves let the ball roll to Walsh on the edge of the box and he curled a beauty into the top corner.
Boro responded well and nearly levelled when Rubin McCarthy raced onto Clarke’s flick on but blazed over the top.
Aodh O'Hanluain and Jack O'Connor also went close as the home side upped the tempo.
Balla had plenty of possession but at time over complicated things.
With five minutes remaining McCarthy’s superb cross from the right fell to Dylan Moriarty six yard out but he headed over.
In a near replica, the final action of the game saw Ryan Mawdsley’s back post header drop agonisingly over the top to the delight of the Balla support.
