LIMERICK DISTRICT LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION:

Geraldines 4 Ballynanty Rvs 4

GERALDINES clawed their way back deep in injury time to earn a share of the spoils with Ballynanty Rvs in a thrilling encounter at Garryowen on Sunday morning.

The game looked dead and buried as extra time ran on but two headed goals from Scott McEvoy earned the home side a point their efforts deserved.

After playing out a draw with league leaders Fairview Rgs last weekend, Balla were hoping to kick on but they were unable to shake off a determined ‘Dines XI.

Balla had the perfect start when Vinny Ryahn put them in front after just three minutes.

The home side didn’t panic and when they settled, they levelled the tie with a superb goal from Ousman Darboe.

Kane Connolly restored the visitors lead on the half hour mark but again the Dines fought back and Alan Keame’s goal sent them in level at the break.

Ten minutes after the restart Dines were guilty of dallying in possession and paid the price when Kevin Laffan nipped in to take possession and put Vinny Ryan through to make it 3-2.

Both teams were reduced to ten men as the game became feisty and the visitors looked to have sealed it when Josh Adams headed in from Shane Walsh’s free kick.
