PIKE Rovers carry the Limerick District League flag this weekend when their Junior and Youth sides are in semi final action in their respective provincial competitions.

Following their win over Janesboro last weekend to keep their title aspirations alive, Pike face a stern test on Sunday away to Peakevilla. The Tipperary side are sitting third in their Premier League and are a renowned cup battlers.

Robbie Williams was forced to line up without the services of a number of players last weekend and you feel they will need to be at full tilt if they are to reach the decider.

Villa FC meet Coachford of Cork in the other semi-final.

On the previous afternoon, Pike Rovers Youths welcome Cork side Lakewood looking for a place in the youth decider.

The Limerick lads are a hugely talented side and their experience in big games will hopefully stand to them in this outing.

The Lawson Cup is getting to the serious stage on Sunday with three quarter final ties on offer while Shelbourne v Aisling Annacotty are vying for a place in the last eight.

The top game looks to be Fairview Rgs v Ballynanty Rvs. With a place already secured in the FAI final and sitting pretty atop the league table, don’t expect Fairview to treat this game any different. They have a winning attitude that has stood them well to date and the Lawson Cup will be one of their objectives.

Balla hold the record for the most wins in the Lawson Cup. Their league campaign to date has been disappointing but you can expect them to go all out for this one.

With the Tuohy Cup on board, Regional Utd will fancy their chances of adding the Lawson Cup to the cabinet. They host Janesboro who have been enjoying a wonderful season.

Amazingly, they lost for the first time last Sunday when Pike won 1-0. They have shown they are capable of bouncing back after a reversal and the Lawson is their last hope of silverware.

High flying Premier A side Corbally Utd A host Premier side Hyde Rgs in Athlunkard. Both teams come into the tie on the back of good wins last weekend.

With nothing to lose, the home side will be all out to cause a shock, so Hyde need to treat this as a s tern test.

Shelbourne will relish the chance to test their progress against Premier League champions Aisling Annacotty in Shelbourne Park.

Div 1A leaders Moyross will be looking to get back to winning ways after their cup exit last weekend. They travel to Ballylanders. Second placed Star Rvs welcome Cappamore to Lee Estate.
