LIMERICK District League take on their Kilkenny counterparts in the quarter finals of the Oscar Traynor Trophy at Regional United's astroturf pitch in Dooradoyle on Sunday afternoon.
After easing through the group stages with wins over Clare 1-0 (Tom Kidd) and Kerry 4-1 (Joel Coustrain (2), Leon Daly and Vinny Ryan) as well as a draw with the Desmond League (own goal), Limerick beat the Munster Senior League in the knock-outs thanks to an Adam Lipper hat trick and in the Munster final two goals from Leon Daly saw them past the Waterford DL on a 2-1 scoreline.
John Lysaght has had to contend with the unavailability of a quite a few players who would have featured but those selected to date have excelled and the manager will stick with those players, so the side will be chosen from Adam Foley, Adam O'Regan, Adam Lipper, Ciaran Jennings, Conor Carew, Conor Coughlan, Dylan Murphy, Eliah Riordan, Eoin Duff, Ewan O’Brien, Joel Coustrain, Joey Rushe, John Keogh, Josh Coady, Josh Toomey, Leon Daly, Raid Mouras, Sean Ezekannagha, Sean Madigan, Shane Pearse, Shane Walsh, Stephen McNamara, Tom Kidd, Vinny Ryan, Willie Armshaw.
In the Premier League, Pike Rvs can reduce the gap at the top of the table to two points if they should win at home to Nenagh.
Pike come into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over Mungret last weekend while Nenagh also posted a win beating Hyde Rgs 4-3.
In the other Premier League game Hyde Rgs A welcome Geraldines to Hyde Park with the visitors urgently in need of points to break free of the danger zone.
The Lawson Cup brings the top sides into action. On Saturday evening Ballynanty Rovers, specialists in the Lawson Cup, are at home to Cappamore.
On the same evening, Fairview Rgs, fresh from their FAI win over Mervue last Sunday, travel to an improving Charleville XI.
Mungret Reg have had the misfortune of facing Fairview and Pike Rvs in the last two games.
They will be hoping to return to winning ways when they host Granville Rgs. In the remaining game Southend host high flying Janesboro in Southill, never an easy task against an in-form Southend side.
The Munster Shield is down to the quarter final stage where we have two all-Limerick quarter finals.
Shelbourne welcome Herbertstown to Shelbourne Park in what should be a cracking tie while in UL, Brazuca Utd host Star Rvs, another thrilling game a possibility.
The Open Cup continues with four games on offer. Patrickswell B v Ballynanty Rvs B, Abbey Rvs welcome Athlunkard Villa C while Lough Derg A v Kilmallock B and Holycross B v Moyross B make up the schedule.
The Ger Ryan Cup semi finals see Holycross take on Regional Utd and Shelbourne hosting Pike Rvs.
Premier A League leaders Athlunkard Villa will be hoping to get back to winning wats at Prospect Priory while Division 1A leaders Moyross face a tough assignment at Ballylanders.
Midweek action on Thursday sees the Premier A Cup pit Fairview Rgs B against Charleville for a place in the semi-final. The game has a 6.30pm kick off in Jackman Park.
