Limerick District League in Munster final of Oscar Traynor Trophy

LIMERICK District League take on Waterford DL in the Munster final of the Oscar Traynor Trophy in Fermoy on Sunday afternoon with a 3pm kick off time.

John Lysaght’s men eased through their group beating Clare 1-0 (Tom Kidd), Kerry 4-1 (Joel Coustrain (2), Leon Daly and Vinny Ryan) and drawing 1-1 with Desmond League (own goal).

A hard fought 3-2 win over the Munster Senior League in the knockouts thanks to an Adam Lipper hat trick sets up their clash with Waterford on Sunday.

Quite a number of players announced themselves as unavailable for selection prior to the start of the competition but the manager will be content to stick with the players who have brought them so far: Adam Foley, Adam O'Regan, Adam Lipper, Ciaran Jennings, Conor Carew, Conor Coughlan, Dylan Murphy, Eliah Riordan, Eoin Duff, Ewan O’Brien, Joel Coustrain, Joey Rushe, John Keogh, Josh Coady, Josh Toomey, Leon Daly, Raid Mouras, Sean Ezekannagha, Sean Madigan, Shane Pearse, Shane Walsh, Stephen McNamara, Tom Kidd, Vinny Ryan, Willie Armshaw.

In the Premier League, leaders Fairview Rgs, with no players in the Oscar Taynor competition, have the chance top open up an eight-point gap on Pike Rovers if they can win at Mungret Reg.

The Blues have been the form team as displayed by their 3-0 win over Pike Rvs in the Lawson Cup in their last outing.
Mungret Regional will be no pushovers however and a win at Paul Danaher’s side will have to be earned.

Following their first win of the season last weekend, Newport will be hoping for back-to-back wins when they visit Ballynanty Rvs on Saturday evening.

Nenagh take on Regional Utd in the final top flight game needing a boost to get over the memory of last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Newport.

The Lawson Cup continues apace with a number of exciting games on offer.

High flying Janesboro will be expected to advance at home to a young Carew Park XI.

Another Premier side Hyde Rgs will not get things as easy away to Premier A League leaders Athlunkard Villa. These two sides are great rivals and always produce a good battle.

Star Rvs welcome a Charleville side improving week by week while Granville Rgs are on the road at Kilfrush.
Shelbourne and Brazuca, fresh from their Munster Shield success last weekend welcome Newtown and Cappamore respectively.

The Open Cup continues this weekend with six games scheduled. Nenagh C welcome Abbey Rvs while Louth Derg A host Cappamore B.

Castle Rvs take on Murroe B while Newport C are on the road to meet Newtown B, In the other ties Athlunkard Villa B host Holycross and Moyross B welcome Mungret C.

In other games of note Caherdavin Celtic will be looking for an immediate bounce back after last week’s defeat to Charleville when they host Aisling Annacotty in the Premier A League.

In Division 1A, Moyross will take outright lead if they can pick up anything on their visit to a good Parkville side and in Division 1B, Herbertstown look to increase their lead at the top of the table when they visit Pike Rvs.
