Oscar Traynor fixture tops bill of fare in Limerick District League junior soccer action

LIMERICK District League are in Oscar Traynor action this weekend when they host the Munster Senior League in the semi-final of the Munster region.

Clare DL await the winners in the Munster Final after they beat the Waterford DL on Sunday.

A Tom Kidd goal gave Limerick a winning start versus Clare while goals from Joel Coustrain (2), Leon Daly and Vinny Ryan saw them ease past the Kerry DL.

An own goal ensured a share of the spoils with the Desmond League to ensure top spot in the group.
Sundays’ opponents are from the M7unster Senior League and a win for Limerick would give them home advantage in the for the quarter-finals.

The team will be picked from the following squad which has brought the side to this stage of the competition.

Adam Foley, Adam O'Regan, Adam Lipper, Ciaran Jennings, Conor Carew, Conor Coughlan, Dylan Murphy, Eliah Riordan, Eoin Duff, Joel Coustrain, Joey Rushe, John Keogh, Josh Coady, Josh Toomey, Leon Daly, Raid Mouras, Sean Ezekannagha, Sean Madigan, Shane Pearse, Shane Walsh, Stephen McNamara, Tom Kidd, Vinny Ryan, Willie Armshaw.

There is one game in the Munster Junior Shield where Star Rvs will be hoping to join Aisling D in the last 16 when they host Pearse Celtic of Cork.

In the FAI Youth Cup, two of the best sides in the leagues cross swords when Pike Rvs face a tricky assignment when they host Regional Utd.

The Open Cup continues this weekend with a couple of games well worth checking out.

Ballynanty Rvs B will be one of the favourites for the trophy and they kick off with a home tie versus Patrickswell B
Corbally Utd C v Moyross B and Brazuca United v Aisling Annacotty C are a couple of games that could go either way.

In the Premier A League, leaders Athlunkard Villa can open a seven point gap at the top of the table if they can take the points on offer when they visit an improving Prospect Priory XI.

Moyross can overtake Star Rvs at the top of Div 1A if they can beat Corbally Utd B while Murroe need to win at home against Cappamore to keep their challenge on course.

There are a couple of mouth-watering ties midweek. Tonight (Wednesday) the first of the Tuohy Cup Semi-Finals is scheduled when neighbours Mungret Regional and Regional Utd meet at 6.30 in Jackman Park.

The winners will meet either Aisling and Fairview in the decider.

The sides met earlier in the league and played out a 2-2 draw. You can expect an equally close encounter this time out.
