LIMERICK District League's quest for Oscar Traynor glory continues this weekend with Limerick DL looking to make it two wins from two when they host the Kerry DL on Sunday afternoon.

A superb win over the Clare DL in their opener has given the home side a great chance of making it to the semi-finals of the Munster region. Tom Kidd’s goal proved the difference between the sides in Ennis.

Manager John Lysaght and assistant Ray O’Halloran will rely on the same squad that sawt hem through on that occasion. With a number of players making themselves unavailable the selectors have drawn heavily on their own side, champions Aisling Annacotty with Josh Twomey of Janesboro, Vinny Ryan of Pallas Utd and John Keogh of Athlunkard Villa also named.

Kerry also had a winning start to their campaign with victory over the Desmond League so a victory for either side will see them through.

Limerick DL line up in their opener was; Stephen McNamara, Adam O'Regan, Joey Rushe, Conor Carew, Ciaran Jennings, Tom Kidd, Leon Daly, Conor Coughlan, Joel Coustrain, Josh Toomey, Vinny Ryan. Sean Ezekannagha, Willie Armshaw.

In the Premier League, Pike Rvs can close the gap at the top of the table to two points when they host Hyde Rgs A. A 4-0 win over Mungret last weekend will have boosted the Hoops confidence while at the same time Hyde Rgs lost to Balla.

The Blues won that game 3-0 and they will be expected to pick up another three points on Sunday when they host a struggling Geraldines XI.

Newport, still searching for their first win of the season, welcome a Mungret Reg side who will be keen to get back to winning ways after defeat to Pike Rvs last Sunday.

Premier A League leaders Athlunkard Villa host an improving Regional Utd B side who will An in-form Corbally Utd side host Aisling Ann B in another important tie.

In Division 1A, Moyross and Star Rvs both suffered surprise defeats last weekend and will be keen to repair the damage when the sides clash on Sunday.

The top two sides in Div 1B meet when Herbertstown host Shelbourne A in what could be a cracker while in Div 2A, joint leaders Kilmallock B are at home to Newtown Rovers while their fellow top side, Balla B will be looking to bounce back from dropped points last weekend when they visit Coonagh Utd B.

In Div 2B Geraldines B v Moyross B is sure to attract the crowds to Garryowen and hopefully the action on the field will keep the fans entertained.

In the FAI Youth Cup, Limerick’s hopefuls are in action with two sides on the road while Regional are favoured with home advantage against Wexford side North End.

Pike Rvs travel o meet Clonakilty while Murroe head west to meet Mervue Utd.
