GROUPS one and two came to an end in the Whitebox Limerick Senior Hurling Championship on Saturday evening.County champions Doon and Na Piarsaigh have both advanced directly into the Limerick senior hurling championship semi-finals. The sides cannot meet each other until the county final if they both get there.
Ballybrown will face Adare on Sunday afternoon in the first of the Limerick SHC quarter-finals at 2pm in Askeaton. The winner of that clash will take on Doon in the SHC semi-final.
Kilmallock and Monaleen meet in the other quarter-final on Sunday evening in Bruff at 4:30pm and the winner will face Na Piarsaigh in the other semi-final.
LIMERICK LEADER SENIOR HURLING COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM OF THE WEEK
1. Darragh Stapleton (Doon)
DOON goalkeeper Darragh Stapleton pulled off a fanstatic penalty save from Ahane's Tom Morrissey deep in injury time which saw the county champions edge past their east Limerick neighbours.
2. Joe Sweeney (Adare) 3. Mike Casey (Na Piarsaigh) 4. Ronan Lyons (Monaleen)
ADARE senior hurling captain Joe Sweeney has been a regular in the full back line for Adare. Since making his return for Na Piarsaigh this year, Mike Casey has slotted back into the full back line seamlessly. Monaleen's Ronan Lyons has impressed in the full back line for the Castletroy side.
5. James Coughlan (Ballybrown) 6. Diarmaid Byrnes (Patrickswell) 7. John Fitzgibbon (Adare)
SINCE returning from his ACL injury, James Coughlan has stood out in the Ballybrown half back line. Despite Patrickswell's defeat to Na Piarsaigh, Diarmaid Byrnes landed 0-9 with 0-6 of those points coming from placed ballS. John Fitzgibbon's performance was vital in Adare's comeback against Newcastle West. A penalty from John Fitzgibbon deep in injury time saw Mark Foley's side edge past their opponents 2-17 to 1-18

8. Barry Duff (Mungret St Paul's) 9. Jack Ryan (Doon)
BARRY DUFF scored 1-3 from midfield in Mungret St Paul's victory over Dromin-Athlacca. Brian Begley's side narrowly missed out on qualifying for the last six of the Limerick SHC. Doon midfielder Jack Ryan has became a regular in Derek McGrath's side's midfield alongside Darragh O'Donovan.
10. Ronan Fox (Ahane) 11. Con Hayes (Newcastle West) 12. Ross Kenny (Ballybrown)
Ahane wing forward Ronan Fox hit 0-3 from wing forward in their narrow defeat to Doon. Newcastle West attacker Con Hayes was on target with 0-5 for the Magpies last weekend. Ross Kenny has impressed for Ballybrown throughout the Limerick SHC and Kenny finished up with 1-2 in their ten point win over Kilmallock.
13. Adrian Breen (Na Piarsaigh) 14. Shane O'Brien (Kilmallock) 15. Jack O'Keefe (Kildimo-Pallaskenry)
This year, Na Piarsaigh sharpshooter Adrian Breen has enjoyed a consistent run of games after previously enduring a difficult spell with some serious injuries. Breen was in fine scoring form against Patrickswell scoring 1-7 from play. Saturday evening was a difficult ten point defeat for Kilmallock but Shane O'Brien was a constant scoring threat hitting 1-11 for the south Limerick club. Kildimo-Pallaskenry played out a draw with Monaleen last weekend and Jack O'Keefe was off the mark with 0-6 points from play for Declan Nash's side.
