TWO prominent Limerick GAA officials are running for positions with Munster GAA Council. Paul Foley, the current county planning and training officer, and Éamonn Phelan, who serves as Limerick GAA’s communications officer, are both in the running for provincial roles.

Foley is contesting the position of treasurer of Munster GAA, while Phelan is seeking election as the communications officer for the provincial body.

Phelan, a St Patrick’s clubman, is now in his second spell as Limerick’s communications officer, a role previously known as public relations officer. He succeeded Hugh Murphy in 2023, having also held the position from 2012 to 2017 before returning to the post two years ago.

Foley, from Patrickswell, brings extensive experience across a range of Limerick GAA roles. He served as the county’s Munster Council delegate in 2016, has played and coached at his home club, and held the position of club chairman. He has also previously worked as an official with Limerick City and County Council.
