LIMERICK midfielder Adam English has hailed the team's resilience after the Shannonsiders’ dismantled Cork in Sunday's Munster Senior Hurling Championship clash at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Doon clubman English was in outstanding form, hitting 1-2 as his side ruthlessly saw off the Cork challenge in a 16-point thumping

The 22-year-old has certainly found his feet in the middle of the field and speaking to RTE's ‘The Sunday Game’ in the aftermath of his side's win, English spoke about bouncing back from last year's All-Ireland semi-final defeat and his new found love for his midfield role.

“I love midfield, I love that bit of freedom and I'm enjoying every bit of it,” English said.

“We were very disappointed last July and once we came in last November we wanted to right the wrongs of that.

“We've trained very hard, we're primed and ready for championship and the work we've put in has been second to none,” he added.

English also hailed the support of the Limerick faithful who were in full voice on Sunday evening in what was a sell-out fixture at the Ennis Road venue.

“John (Kiely) said after the Waterford game that we needed everyone here today and to be fair they (the supporters) came up trumps. We really needed them today.”

Next up for Limerick is the visit of already eliminated Clare to the TUS Gaelic Grounds this Sunday May 25, throw-in 4pm.
