Evan Loftus announces Limerick U20 hurling panel for 2025 season

EVAN Loftus has announced his 38 man Limerick U20 hurling panel ahead of the season. 

Fintan Fitzgerald, Darragh Langan, Hugh Flanagan and Sean Casey who have named on John Kiely's pre-season squad are part of this year's U20 squad. 

Matthew Fitzgerald, Cian Scully, Dara Ferland and Mark Field who won the premier U20 hurling championship with Monaleen are part of this year's squad. 

Diarmuid Lyons had an impressive campaign with Newcastle West on their run to winning the premier Intermediate championship title. Lyons will look build on his campaign with the Limerick U20's.

James Coughlan brother of Limerick senior hurler Colin Coughlan is also part of the squad. Jack Cosgrove, Patrick Cagney, Eoin Brosnan, Diarmuid Hurley and John O'Keefe have made the step up from minor to U20. 

Loftus is in his second year in charge of the Limerick U20's. Alan Kelly, Stephen Walsh and Tony Power will continue their roles as Limerick U20 hurling selectors.

The Ballybrown native will be hoping his side can put this year's disappointing campaign behind them. Limerick only managed to win one of their Munster championship games against Waterford and they were defeated by Cork, Tipperary and Clare.

Limerick begin their U20 championship away to Tipperary on March 26. On April 9 Loftus' charges travel to Waterford. The Shannonsiders will play their first home game against Cork on April 23. 

Limerick will finish off their round-robin series against neighbours Clare on April 30 at home. Second and third place after the round-robin series will meet in the Munster semi-final on May 7. 

The winner will face the team that finishes top of round-robin series in the Munster final on May 14.
