SIX games took place in the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship last week which saw Ahane, Doon, Na Piarsaigh, Kildimo Pallaskenry, Ballybrown and Dromin Athlacca record victories. 

The action continue in the Senior Hurling Championship this week with games taking from Thursday August 8 until Saturday August 10. 

1. Dromin Athlacca make a successful return to Senior Hurling 

After their 15 year absence in senior hurling, Dromin Athlacca made a succesful return to senior hurling when they defeated South Liberties 3-14 to 2-23. Limerick senior hurler David Reidy impressed for the victors scoring 1-14. Last year's Premier Intermediate champions will look to make it two wins out of two against Adare this weekend. 

2. Derek McGrath makes a winning start as Doon senior hurling manager

Doon have brought in former Waterford senior hurling manager Derek McGrath as their manager for 2024 season. McGrath made a winning start to his reign when Doon defeated Kilmallock by one point on Thursday evening at the TUS Gaelic Grounds. The east Limerick side face Patrickswell on Friday evening in Kilmallock. 

3. Kildimo Pallaskenry's depth

Kildimo Pallaskenry showed that they developed strenght and depth. Natal O'Grady's side were without Cathal Downes, Tony McCarthy and Peter Nash who were all sidelined through injury. Kildimo Pallaskenry defeated Adare by eight points in the openiong round of the Senior B Hurling Championship and now look like real contenders to make the jump back up to Senior Hurling. 

4. Tom Morrissey was on fire for Ahane

Ahane defeated Mungret St Pauls by one point in Claughan on Saturday evening. Tom Morrissey was in superb form for Ahane where he registered 1-8 out of Ahane's 1-17. In the next four games Ahane will take on Na Piarsaigh, Kilmallock, Patrickswell and Doon. 

5. Na Piarsaigh show all their experience 

Before half-time against Patrickswell, Na Piarsaigh trailed 0-11 to 0-7 but the county champions had the game back on level terms at the break. Shane O'Neill's side went on to outscore their opponents 1-6 to 0-12 in the second half.
