Granagh Ballingarry GAA to run Virtual Voyage fundraiser from Ballingarry to Boston

The U15 Granagh/Ballingarry team who will compete in the mini Blitz against Boston and Ballyagran

GRANAGH Ballingarry GAA Bord na nÓ is setting an ambitious fundraising task for the month of June as the club invites members throughout the entire club, from their sprightly under-6s to the seasoned adult teams, along with parents, committee members, and supporters to take on the challenge of logging a collective 4,667 km—the distance from Granagh/Ballingarry Clubhouse to Boston GAA Grounds in Canton, Massachusetts.

Every stride, pedal, scoot, skip and jump counts in this colossal endeavour. Teams are integrating dedicated runs into their training sessions, ensuring that everyone contributes to the transatlantic trek. And for that extra burst of KM counting, they will be hosting a spinathon at O'Gormans and O'Grady's shops on June 22. Here, the energetic peddling power of the young members will shine as they inch the club closer to our Bostonian destination.

This event builds excitement for the highly anticipated visit from the Boston GAA Féile Football U15 team. On June 26, the club will be hosting a mini Blitz of Boston, Ballyagran, and Granagh/Ballingarry.

Among the coaching staff is a Ballingarry native, Niall Hanley, uncle to six of our underage members, who will form part of the 70-strong group from Boston.
