LIMERICK jockey Wesley Joyce rode his 23rd winner of 2024 when teaming up with the Michael Mulvany-trained Sunriseontheboyne to win the second division of the eight-furlong nursery handicap at Dundalk on Friday evening.
In the trainer’s own colours, the 5/1 shot led inside the final furlong under Moyross jockey Joyce to beat Noel Meade’s 6/1 chance Your Call by half a length.
A runner-up earlier in the evening with Scott Lang, trainer Paul Flynn landed the concluding 10-furlong handicap with The Real Screamer at Dundalk on Friday.
Ridden by Shanagolden's Chris Hayes, the Nathan Matthews-owned 13/2 chance came from off the pace to lead at the furlong-pole and he went right away to score by all of five lengths from the Ado McGuinness-trained 9/2 shot Dancing Steve.
Hayes had also finished second on the Dermot Weld-trained Sacred Oath to Michael O’Callaghan’s Genoah in the 10-furlong maiden an hour before his final race success.
