All-Ireland hurling heroes to receive medals at Adare Manor

Limerick GAA

THE ALL-IRELAND winning hurling heroes are to be honoured with medals from the President of the GAA at a special presentation at Adare Manor.

The Limerick Senior Hurlers were the pride of the county earlier this year when they won the championship for the third year in a row.

Declan Hannon and the boys will receive their Celtic Cross medals at a presentation at the five star resort on Saturday evening.

The panel will be handed their medals by GAA President Larry Mc Carthy with Petula Martyn acting as MC for the evening.

The private event includes a drink reception and dinner followed by the presentation of the medals.

The boys in green will be in their finest attire for the presentation which is usually the final official event for the team of the season.

Limerick were victorious against Kilkenny in Croke Park in July. It was the earliest time in the year that a final had ever taken place.

The defending champions won the game by 1-31 to 2-26 to claim their fourth title in five years and their first ever three-in-a-row.

The game had the most scores in a final ever surpassing the previous record of 58 in 2021, with 60 scores in total.
