Lidl seeks to build new store on outskirts of Limerick city

GERMAN retailer Lidl is seeking permission to build a discount foodstore on the outskirts of Limerick city. 

The company has submitted a planning application to Clare County Council for the proposed development at Knockballynameath, Corbally – on lands to the north of the existing Westbury Centre.

The proposed development also includes a off-licence area, a coffee shop and car-parking for electric cars. 

The application was lodged last Friday and a decision must be made by early July.
