Vintage tractor run in memory of two-year-old Limerick boy on in Doon

The late Darragh O'Brien's memory has been honoured with the hugely successful tractor run since 2015

DARRAGH’S vintage tractor run will celebrate the memory of a beautiful little boy who left his mark on the world and raise money for good causes in Doon this Sunday, April 28.

The first event organised by Darragh’s parents – Patrice and Donnacha – was in 2015. An incredible €32,000 was raised for First Light — a charity that supports families after the sudden loss of a child.

A second successful event took place in 2016. It couldn’t be held in 2017 due to a family bereavement but it was back last year. And now everyone is looking forward to Sunday in Doon.

Darragh O’Brien loved tractors and machinery. He would look out the window and at only two-years-old could recognise every one passing by on the road outside. Darragh would even look at his dad’s vintage tractor magazines. He tragically passed away suddenly in 2014. A tractor run is the perfect way to celebrate Darragh’s memory.

This year they are taking a break from the family fun day and focusing on the vintage tractor run. All tractors must be pre 1989. Registration commences at 11am in Doon before embarking on a 12km round trip.

All participants will receive a plaque and meal. There is no entry fee, just a donation on the day if desired. All monies will go to local charities.
