Update: Children receiving treatment in hospital following Limerick car crash

TWO children involved in a multiple vehicle collision in County Limerick this Friday morning have been transported to University Hospital Kerry.

The collision happened shortly before 8am on the Killarney Road in Abbeyfeale close to the turn off for Cryle View estate.

According to a witness at the scene, the two children were in a double buggy in the company of their father when the buggy was struck by a vehicle. They are believed to have suffered minor injuries.

The witness described the scene as ‘chaos’.

“A man was crossing the road with his two children in a double buggy when there was a car crash. One car struck the buggy and the car flew into a wall,” said the eyewitness.

“You could hear the children screaming and crying. It was terrifying. One of the children was covered in cuts but they seemed to be OK. The father of the two kids was in shock,” they added.

One lane of traffic has reopened and the other is expected to reopen within the hour.
