A LUCKY punter from County Limerick has secured a big win after earning more than €6,000 in a EuroMillions bet at a Boylesports store in Limerick.
The anonymous customer placed a small €4 bet in a BoyleSports shop in the county on Friday, picking four numbers for the main EuroMillions draw later that evening.
They faced odds of 1,500/1 and were left needing 1, 6 and 16 all to come out, but the bet looked doomed as only 16 had rolled out within the first three numbers. With just two numbers left, the customer’s fortune took a sudden upturn as 6 and 1 dropped and landed the bet, a spokesperson said.
They were able to return to the shop and scoop a tidy profit of €6,000 for their €4 investment.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Hats off to our Limerick customer who took on the big odds with just €4 and got rewarded in the best way possible. We send them our congratulations and hope they enjoy splashing out with their winnings.”
