MEMBERS of Limerick Fire and Rescue Service – both retained and fulltime – were presented with long-service awards at a ceremony in Dublin.

Awards were also presented by Minister Eoghan Murphy to several workers who are based at the Munster Regional Communications Centre.

The award for 20 years' service is a medal bearing the traditional logo of the fire service - a helmet and crossed axes; the medal ribbon has the Irish national colours with a central column in red to represent the fire service.

The 30 years award is a pin in the shape of a flame.

Each of the recipients also received a certificate to mark the achievement. Long-service awards are presented every second year.
