SANTA has scaled the walls of King John’s Castle in Limerick ahead of a magical Christmas adventure at the medieval structure.

The big red bearded one dropped into 13th-century Castle at the invitation of Shannon Heritage, who are hosting a magical Christmas adventure at King John’s this festive season.

On the weekends leading up to Christmas as well as December 20 and 23 between 10am and 7pm, venture on an enchanting journey to King John’s Castle ‘Magical Christmas’. A true winter wonderland awaits within the iconic setting of the Castle walls with a promise of joy and wonder, according to Shannon Heritage, who operate the Castle.

“We are delighted Santa Claus has accepted our invitation to visit King John’s Castle and meet children and their families there. It a magical time of year at the Castle and we have laid on a feast of entertainment for our young and not so young visitors as part of their Santa visit. It is the perfect location to begin your Christmas experience in Limerick city,” said Niall O’Callaghan, Managing Director of Shannon Heritage.

There will be a host of activities including the Sleeping Hollows beneath the castle, the wintertide chamber of the Snow Princess, the 12 days of Christmas Clue Trail, a hilarious puppet show and the cute animals of Ger’s Mobile Farm, plus a toddler ball park and Santa’s Little Helpers Workshop.

Santa’s elves will be on hand, as will Mrs Claus before you enter the magical Grotto to meet Santa Claus himself.
