HOLLYWOOD film star John Travolta is one of the latest to be wowed by what is on offer at the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum in County Limerick.

Last weekend, two of his private jet pilots visited the museum and bought some books telling one of the great aviation stories in the world.

The star of over 30 movies, including Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Pulp Fiction and Look Who’s Talking Too, sent a picture with the books back to Foynes.

And the message that came with the photograph to the museum: ‘John says thank you!’

Meanwhile, “one of Ireland’s finest tourism ambassadors”, Margaret O’Shaughnessy, director of the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum, was given a civic reception by councillors in the area last week.
