LIMERICK’S Adare Manor is celebrating a first birthday since a stunning restoration that has catapulted the five star resort into global ‘best of the best’ territory.

The plush five star resort, recently voted global Hotel of the Year 2018 at the world-renowned global Virtuoso Best of the Best Awards, is celebrating its first birthday since reopening to guests in November 2017 following an extensive restoration, refurbishment and expansion programme over a 21 month period, the largest restoration project of its kind in Ireland.

The restoration and expansion at the JP McManus owned 840-acre estate included the addition of a 42-bedroom wing, a ballroom with a capacity for 350 guests, the addition of the La Mer Spa and an incredible transformation of the golf course, recently named winner of the Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) 2018 Golf Resort of the Year and bidding for the right to host the Ryder Cup in 2026.

Paul Heery, General Manager at Adare Manor, said Adare Manor had “come a long way since reopening last November”.

“It has been an incredible journey and we have enjoyed every minute.  It took a lot of hard work, commitment and determination from our wonderful team,” he said.

“Reflecting on the past twelve months and looking at all the achievements Adare Manor has already seen, and the fabulous reactions the resort receives on a daily basis, locally, nationally and internationally, we look forward with great encouragement to the future.

“One of our highlights and most significant achievements of the year was being voted ‘Hotel of the Year 2018’ at the world-renowned global Virtuoso ‘Best of the Best Awards’ and it was with great pride that we brought this worldwide award back to Ireland and Limerick.

“We have received huge support locally and internationally since we re-opened last year and we would like to thank all the guests who have visited Adare Manor over the past 12 months. It was a true testament to the commitment and investment into making Adare Manor into the beautiful resort we have here today,” he added.

The Manor has enjoyed success on the world stage, winning awards and accolades both nationally and internationally, since it reopened.

It recently hosed the global Engage! Summits which attracted 250 world leading wedding, event and business industry experts to Ireland, and many Irish events from fashion shows, gala dinners and award ceremonies to intimate and large local and international family gatherings have all taken place there, plus several high profile weddings.
